This long gallery, opening onto the Bazille Court, displays small-format works, mostly from the collection of Alfred Bruyas, including landscapes of the Barbizon School, and animal sculptures by Barye. The numerous portraits of Bruyas himself testify to his close personal contacts with the artists of his day. The works are hung so as to recreate the original atmosphere of the collector's private gallery, providing an insight into his capricious, tormented personality.
